16 Foot Boston Ship Chandler's Whitehall Boat
This is the drawing that started the project and made me an accidental boatbuilder. I drew it up for some greeting cards to sell in a shop a friend had on the wharf. Someone saw them, mistakenly thought I was building the boat, and asked, "How much?"
Without a moment's thought, I said, "$3,000", because it seemed like a lot of money at that point in my life. Boy, was that ever a lesson in keeping your trap shut until your brain had a chance to engage! My client sold the boat for $10,000 a few days after he took delivery.
